WELCOME TO ST. ANTHONY'S CROATIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
St. Anthony Croatian Catholic Parish is a community of faith and love, graced with a revered ethnic heritage.
We share our Catholic faith with other parish communities that constitute the larger local Church of Los Angeles. With them we are devoted to a common Church mission, which is to witness the presence of God in our world and to advance the civilization of love.
At the same time, we are a distinct ethnic community. The Croatian Christian heritage is fourteen centuries old. We cherish such a legacy and are indebted to preserve our rich Croatian culture, traditions, customs, values and language for future generations.
In regard to this specific character of our parish community, our primary goal is to enhance efficient interaction of faith and culture. Therefore, we commit ourselves to promoting the cultural adaptation of liturgy. Also, in order to invigorate dynamics of evangelization we are committed to contextualize all pastoral, catechetical, social and cultural activities in the parish. |

SVEČANA PROSLAVA MAJČINA DANA
Danas nakon župske Mise nastavljamo druženje u velikoj dvorani. Tamburaški orkestar i Kolo grupa “Croatia” te djeca Hrvatske Dječje Škole izvest će program u čast Majčinog Dana. Nakon programa služit će se ručak.
Hvala svima koji su na bilo koji način sudjelovali u kreiranju današnjeg programa. Posebna hvala Franji Baltorinić te instruktorima tamburice i kolo grupe “Croatia”, kao i direktorici “Hrvatske Dječje Škole” Maji Bristow i njezinim suradnicima. Hvala onima koji su već proslali odreske lutrijskih listića. Ako još niste, molimo vas da ih što prije ispunite i pošaljete na župski ured, jer uspjeh piknika ponajviše ovisi o ovoj prvoj fazi. Također vas molimo da se već sada prijavite za dobrovoljni rad pred piknik i na dan piknika. Sastanak je slijedeće nedjelje nakon župske Mise.

This program is the only such, and it has been on air for almost half the century (KTYM 1460 AM).
Our listeners can listen to Croatian music with commercial messages from our sponsors and our regular spiritual message from our Parish.

Our Chilren's School Mission Statement is a coherent partnership between our priests, teachers, parents and students.
The objective is to ensure that each student develops a firm foundation of our Croatian heritage, nurtured through a distinctive base of knowledge.
Continuing the accomplishments from last year, we have added an exciting new study program about Croatia, our beautiful homeland, a new dance and music class where students can learn how to play Tamburica and sing in a children's choir.

Dear parents, kids and friends,
I have to let you know that Mislav (the filmmaker) was delighted with all of you today.
Thank you for having the courage to talk to him about important issues. I commend the CCS kids for singing so beautifully and our big Kolo Cro kids for their dancing. It looked great. It is an important milestone for both organizations.
Mislav was happy to see that we all work together as volunteers, very hard to maintain our heritage here in Los Angeles, so far away from the homeland.
He will be putting together little story about us and our work. The footage will be edited for Croatian Television-HRT, and will be shown during prime time television. You will be informed on a date and time, and I will have a DVD for you when finished.
Please be patient. It will take some time to organize the segment, as we will be adding some video clips from the Christmas program and upcoming Mother's Day program as well.
It will be fabuloso just like all of you.

Blagdan Duhova
Današnjom svetkovinom Duhova ispunja se pedesetdnevno Uskrsno vrijeme. Po tome je ovaj blagdan i dobio drugo ime – Pedesetnica. Duhovi su također i rođendan Crkve, jer se toga dana u Jeruzalemu mala zajednica prvih Kristovih vjernika po prvi put predstavila javnosti, umnožena prilivom prvih krštenika.
Stoga je sasvim razumljivo da današnja misna čitanja nastoje orisati samu srž, ustrojstvo i dinamizam crkvenog bića. Crkva je prije svega zajednica onih koji Kristu vjeruju i koje Duh pokreće da mijenjaju svijet te promiču mir i civilizaciju ljubavi. Crkva uvažava bogatstvo kultura, jezika i mišljenja (1.Kor.12,3b-7,12-13). Crkva ruši ograde među ljudima, ali ne ugrožava njihove posebnosti; povezuje ali ne okiva; sjedinjuje, ali ne ujednačuje, ne uniformira. više
