WELCOME TO ST. ANTHONY'S CROATIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

St. Anthony Croatian Catholic Parish is a community of faith and love, graced with a revered ethnic heritage.
We share our Catholic faith with other parish communities that constitute the larger local Church of Los Angeles. With them we are devoted to a common Church mission, which is to witness the presence of God in our world and to advance the civilization of love.
At the same time, we are a distinct ethnic community. The Croatian Christian heritage is fourteen centuries old. We cherish such a legacy and are indebted to preserve our rich Croatian culture, traditions, customs, values and language for future generations.
In regard to this specific character of our parish community, our primary goal is to enhance efficient interaction of faith and culture. Therefore, we commit ourselves to promoting the cultural adaptation of liturgy. Also, in order to invigorate dynamics of evangelization we are committed to contextualize all pastoral, catechetical, social and cultural activities in the parish.

PARISH ANNOUNCEMENTS

MESSAGE BY THE PC CHAIRMAN
"As many of you witnessed and others heard or saw through social media, our Croatian Church was vandal- ized this past week. Rest assured that the proper authori- ties have been notified and are working with San Pedro Croatian Hall Officers, who were vandalized in a similar fashion, and have a video of the alleged perpetrator. In addition, we are activating the alarm system, in- stalling updated video surveillance, improving perimeter lighting and taking other precautionary measures. We are praying and working with law enforcement authori- ties to apprehend and punish the culprits for this heinous crime."
    Vjeko Kosor, Parish Council Chairman

Our “Together in Misson” collection so far is $2,940. Donations for the Caritas in Croatia helping the floods’ affected people are US $1,550. The special collection for the Retirement Fund for priests of the Archdiocese is US $302. The Peter’s Pence special collection for the charities governed by the Holy Father is US $305.00. The “MISSION APEAL” collections conducted by Rev. Joseph Donovan, of Maryknoll Mission is US $329.00. THIS SUNDAY we have the “National Needs Combined Collection.” This collection continues to strengthen Catholic faith, values and education through “The Catholic Communication Campaign's television, radio, and print messages. It helps support some of the poorest dioceses in the country that depend on the annual collection. It enables to insure the highest standards of quality Catho- lic education though The Catholic University of America's exceptional programs of scholarship, research, and service. It strengthens the Church at home, and helps to provide basic pastoral resources and services to needy ethnic communities in scattered and isolated areas through the catholic Home Missions Appeal. Please, be generous with your donations.

CHILDREN'S SCHOOL

Our Chilren's School Mission Statement is a coherent partnership between our priests, teachers, parents and students.

The objective is to ensure that each student develops a firm foundation of our Croatian heritage, nurtured through a distinctive base of knowledge.

Continuing the accomplishments from last year, we have added an exciting new study program about Croatia, our beautiful homeland, a new dance and music class where students can learn how to play Tamburica and sing in a children's choir.
