PORUKA DOŠAŠĆA Današnjom prvom nedjeljom Došašća počinje nova crkvena liturgijska godina. Ovo je ujedno i vrijeme kada se Crkva priprema za proslavu Božića. Zapravo, u Došašću se Crkva spominje trostrukog Božjeg dolaska u ljudsku povijest i trostrukog ispunjenja naših najdubljih čežnji. Krist, čovjekoljubac, očekivan od izraelskog naroda, kao Spasitelj se rodio u Betlehemu. Krist i danas dolazi – po sakramentima – i postaje nazočan u životu koji se vodi principom ljubavi. Krist će opet doći u slavi i pokazat će kako je ljudska povijest imala smisla u svim svojim pozitivnim stremljenjima. Taj konačni dan mi iščekujemo, ne mirno stojeći, nego živeći za bolje i ljudskije društvo. Tada će nam se otkriti u punini Božja ljubav i smisao ljudske sudbine. Stoga, vrijeme Došašća budi u nama nadu prožetu radošću. Ono odgoni potištenost i očaj te daje poleta svim ljudskim naporima u zalaganju za bolji svijet, prožet Duhom ljubavi. VJERONAUK I HRVATSKA ŠKOLA Vjeronauk se održava svake nedjelje pred župsku misu od 9:30-10:15 u učionicama župskog centra. Hrvatska Dječja Škola te učenje kola i tamburice održava se nakon Mise u 11:30AM. VIDEO O STOGODIŠNJICI ŽUPE Danas poslije župske Mise će Dominic Vlašić snimiti kratke izjave župljana za video o stotoj obljetnici. Ta kratka izjava neka bude ovako osmišljena: što meni znači hrvatska župa svetog Ante i koliko ona doprinosi mom duhovnom i društvenom životu? |
WHAT IS THE ADVENT? Today we celebrate the First Sunday of Advent. During this four – week season, we anticipate the birth of the Messiah in remembrance of the time in history when he was awaited. Advent also helps us to look forward to Christ’s reign and his majestic coming on the last day. One way to commemorate Advent is the prayerful lighting of a candle in an Advent wreath each night of the season to signal the coming of the true light of Christ. CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS of our Croatian parish will reach their grand finale on weekend 11 & 12 of December. This weekend was chosen because the church was dedicated on December 11, 1910. The closing celebrations will begin on Saturday, December 11th at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, 506 S. Grand Ave. LA, CA 90012. Social hour is at 5:00PM followed by Dinner, video presentation of the parish history and the cultural program. Donation is $100.00 per person. The Crystal Ballroom is at capacity, we still have 20 spots available in the Tiffany Room, which will serve as overflow seating. On Sunday, December 12th, the celebrations continue with a jubilee procession at 10:30, followed by a solemn Thanksgiving Mass. The presider is the Archbishop NIKOLA ETEROVIĆ, who holds a high position in the Church hierarchy in Vatican. He is Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops. After mass lunch will be hosted in the parish center with favors of the parish for all in attendance. |
