Welcome to the 2010-2011 School year!!!
As we approach the end of the summer, a lot of us are maybe dreading the beginning of the constant schedules, keeping up with all the demands of school and work. But kids are also excited to see their friends, to make new and become a part of new classrooms. With all of this, we are also approaching a new Croatian School Year. It is with a great excitement, anxiousness and enthusiasm that we await this. Last year was very successful. We had a great group of students, teachers, and parents. We made many accomplishments.
This year is the 100th year celebration of our Church and the expectations are even higher. I am looking forward to a great new start and an exciting year. We have lots of planning and many performances to prepare for.
Traveling with our Kolo Group to San Jose and performing in front of a new audience would be first amongst the preparation for the Centennial Celebration, Christmas Show and Extravaganza to follow. We have a brand new dance to master, tamburica’s to tune and a new Croatian lesson plan to study through.
Yes, we have lots of plans!! It will be fun! It will be challenging! But most importantly, it will bring us together. Our children will learn about our Croatian heritage, traditions and language. They will make friends for a lifetime, and will always remember these days of their childhood. They will not only be able to say that they are Croatian, but actually understand what being Croatian really is.
It is very easy to loose a sense of who we are and where we come from in this busy, big city, fast pace life of ours. So parents, lets make an extra effort of teaching our children what our heritage and culture is all about.
Our classes start from ages 3 and up. We have children and parents who do not speak any Croatian, so don’t be shy on what your level is. Everyone is welcome.
Registration began on September 19th. Classes are held every Sunday at 11:30 am in the classrooms on the second floor of the hall. We also offer Beginning Adult Croatian Language classes at the same time. Class is meant to be fun and easy.

Lets have a great year !!!
Sincerely,
Katica Ban

NOVI ODBOR HRVATSKE DJEČJE ŠKOLE
Katica Ban - upraviteljica;
Lori Petrinac i Dijana Gotal - tajnice;
Vernice McNutt - blagajnica;
Sonia Ban i Tamara Wouters - odbornice;
Marija Bašković, Gina Pilić, Dragana Marich i Jasna Grbavac - učiteljice;
Naše čestitke i obilni Božji blagoslov u promicanju hrvatskog rodoljublja, jezika i kulture među djecom i mladima!

Hvala na zanimanju koje pokazujete prema Hrvatskoj dječjoj školi pri župi sv. Ante.
Vaše povjerenje i spremnost da upišete dijete u ovu školsku i odgojnu organizaciju, bit će nagrađeno predanim radom upravnog odbora i učitelja škole.
