WELCOME TO ST. ANTHONY'S CROATIAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
St. Anthony Croatian Catholic Parish is a community of faith and love, graced with a revered ethnic heritage.
We share our Catholic faith with other parish communities that constitute the larger local Church of Los Angeles. With them we are devoted to a common Church mission, which is to witness the presence of God in our world and to advance the civilization of love.
At the same time, we are a distinct ethnic community. The Croatian Christian heritage is fourteen centuries old. We cherish such a legacy and are indebted to preserve our rich Croatian culture, traditions, customs, values and language for future generations.
In regard to this specific character of our parish community, our primary goal is to enhance efficient interaction of faith and culture. Therefore, we commit ourselves to promoting the cultural adaptation of liturgy. Also, in order to invigorate dynamics of evangelization we are committed to contextualize all pastoral, catechetical, social and cultural activities in the parish. |

STOGODIŠNJICA NAŠE ŽUPE obilježena je u subotu 11. prosinca, 2010., na isti dan kada je 11. prosinca 1910. godine biskup Thomas Conaty posvetio župsku crkvu. Osnivatelj župe i prvi župnik je bio don Anton Žuvić iz Luke na Dugom Otoku. Stogodišnjica je obilježena gala banketom i svečanim prigodnim programom.
Suslavitelji jubilarne Euharistije su bili župnik don Mate, bivši župnici don Srećko i don Janko, svećenička “mladica” iz naše župe vlč. Richard Charbel Grbavac, hrvatski misionar pri župi Mary Star u San Pedru o. Ivan Gerovac te fra Ljubo Krasić iz Franjevačke Kustodije u Chicagu. |

St Anthony's Kolo Club "CROATIA" was a participant in the 2011 Medjunarodna Smotra Folklora in Zagreb July 22-24. We further performed in Sv. Jana, near Jastrebarsko on July 26, Ljubac near Zadar on July 27, Vaserovici, Hercegovina on July 29 and for the Ljubusko Silo in Hercegovina on July 30th.
It was the trip of a lifetime for this group and a dream come true for me after 40 years of performing for St Anthony's Croatian Catholic Church in Los Angeles.
These pictures are just a small part of this trip...our memories will hold all the special moments and experiences in our hearts forever!

VJERONAUK I HRVATSKA ŠKOLA |
Pred vratima je nova vjeronaučna i školska godina. Podsjećamo roditelje da se vjera, rodoljublje kao i odanost obiteljskim tradicijama ponajviše svjedoči upisom djece na vjeronauk ovdje u našoj hrvatskoj župi. Vjeronauk zbližava hrvatske obitelji, učvrščuje naše župsko zajedništvo te prenosi na mlade brigu za budućnost ove hrvatske župe.
To se isto može reći i o ulozi Hrvatske Dječje Škole. Upis učenika u ove obje odgojne institucije naše župe obavljat će se u rujnu. Kateketska nedjelja će se slaviti u nedjelju 18. rujna a 25. rujna bit će susret roditelja i vodstva Hrvatske Dječje Škole kada će biti predstavljeni program u novoj školskoj godini.
Vjeronauk će se kao i prošlih godina održavati pred župsku misu, a školski program hrvatskog jezika, drame, pjevanja, sviranja tamburice i kola nakon župske Mise.
Podsjećamo roditelje da samo aktivni članovi župe mogu upisati djecu u ove tri institucije te se koristiti povlasticama, time povezane. Također se mole roditelji da dovode djecu i mlade na župsku Misu u 10:30, jer se upravo tako postaje aktivni član župe
Enrollment for Croatian Children’s School will take place through the month of September.
On Sunday, September 25th after the 10:30AM Mass the parents will have an opportunity to meet with the board members and teachers of the School in order to choose the programs which fit the interest and talents of their children. All returning and new students ages 3 and up are welcome. Classes are held after 10:30AM Mass in the parish center.

Our Chilren's School Mission Statement is a coherent partnership between our priests, teachers, parents and students.
The objective is to ensure that each student develops a firm foundation of our Croatian heritage, nurtured through a distinctive base of knowledge.
Continuing the accomplishments from last year, we have added an exciting new study program about Croatia, our beautiful homeland, a new dance and music class where students can learn how to play Tamburica and sing in a children's choir.
