UVOD U MISNA ČITANJA

I. Od dana svoga uzašašća Isus ne prebiva me|u nama na vidljiv način: više nije bitno vidjeti Isusa već u svemu živjeti za njega i s njime.

II. Pavao piše vjernicima pozivajući na jedinstvo vjere koju smo primili i po kojoj se prepoznaje jedan Gospodin, jedna vjera i jedno krštenje.

III. Isus se ukazuje jedanaestorici i šalje ih da navješćuju evan|elje spasenja svim narodima. To je početak njihova apostolskog poslanja koje se po Crkvi nastavlja i danas. Na to poslanje smo tako|er i mi pozvani.

SPECIAL COLLECTION - RETIREMENT FUND

Today, you will be asked to give generously to support the Retirement Fund for Archdiocesan Priests via a special collection.

Currently, the fund provides for 149 priests who are retired. Over the next ten years, the number of priests who will reach retirement age will number 349. All of them have committed their lives to serve the spiritual needs of our parish communities. We, in turn, owe it to them to assure that they do not have to worry about their retirement years.

Please take a special pamphlet at the vestibule which describes the importance of this collection.

HOW TO FULFILL THE EASTER DUTY?

Catholics are required to receive Holy Communion at least once a year, preferably during the Easter Season. In the U.S., this extends from the First Sunday of Lent to Trinity Sunday. Since we must approach Christ in Eucharist worthily, celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation is an important part of our preparation.

At St. Anthony’s there is an opportunity to make confession before 10:30AM Sunday Mass.

ASCENSION MEDITATION

Chirst, who ascended into heaven in his body, carries on what he began on earth through his new body, the community of believers. He teaches through its apostles and evangelists. He ministers through its prophets and pastors. In and through the Church, Jesus continues to heal and to comfort; to forgive and to lead us toward our final goal in heaven.

We have not been left alone; we have his power, the same power with which he performed marvels when he walked the earth. We have not been left alone, we have each other. Together we make up the new body of Christ; the Church. Together we await the fullness of this body in a heavenly Jerusalem.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

is one of the most important days for Christian families and their children, as well as for a larger family: our parish. First Holy Communion for the Croatian children will take place on Sunday, June 6th at 10:30AM Mass. Rehearsal will be in the church on Saturday, June 5th at 11:00AM. It is mandatory for both parents to attend.

First Holy Communion for the neighborhood children will take place on Sunday, June 13th at 8:30AM Mass.

IMPORTANT PICNIC MEETING

There will be an important meeting to discuss the church picnic today in the parish hall immediately following the 10:30AM Mass.
Everyone is invited.

DANAŠNJIM BLAGDANOM UZAŠAŠĆA

slavimo Isusovu i našu proslavu kod Boga. Odlaskom svojim proslavljenim tijelom u nebo, Isus je učenicima postao nevidljiv. Pa ipak, svojim božanstvom On je s njima, a onda i s nama, “u sve dane – do svršetka svijeta.” On je Spasitelj svih vremena i prostora. Njegova se prisutnost očituje u crkvenom zajedništvu, navještaju Svetog Pisma, slavlju sakramentata i u dobrim djelima koja jedni drugima činimo. Sve nam to pokazuje da je nebo blizu, možemo reći tu nadohvat ruke.

To nam daje sigurnu nadu da će sav naš trud oko dobra biti jednom nagrađen vječnim zajedništvom s Presvetim Trojstvom.

UZAŠAŠĆAE

HVALA UMIROVLJENIM SVEĆENICIMA

Danas druga milostinja ide u fond kojim se uzdržavaju umirovljeni svećenici nadbiskupije Los Angeles. Budite velikodušni prema onima koji su s puno ljubavi čitav svoj život ugradili u duhovno dobro naših župskih zajednica. Uzmite listić na izlazu iz crkve u kojemu se opisuje važnost ove druge kolekte. Unaprijed hvala!

ZAHVALA ZA MAJČIN DAN

Proslava Majčina dana prošle nedjelje bila je izuzetno uspješna: djeca u procesiji, svečana sv. Misa uz nadahnuto muziciranje tamburaškog orkestra i župskog pjevačkog zbora, do u detalje razrađeni program te ukusni ručak ispunili su dan kojeg ćemo dugo pamtiti. Hvala svima koji us nam to omogućili.

Hvala učiteljima kolo grupe i tamburaškog orkestra “Croatia” te “Hrvatske dječje škole”. Posebna hvala predsjednicima tih dvaju društava: Mati Dušević, Heidi Granić i Katici Ban. Hvala vrsnoj kuharici Zori Čadovec i njezinim dobro organiziranim pomagačicama.

No, najviše hvala djeci i mladima koji su svojim razdraganim pjesmama, sviranjem, pjevanjem, kolom i plesom, te sebi svojstvenim mladenačkim entuzijazmom, razveselili naše drage majke i sve nazočne.

ŽUPSKI PIKNIK

Hvala onima koji su već poslali odreske lutrijskih listića. Ako još niste, molimo vas da ih što prije ispunite i pošaljete na župski ured. Također vas molimo da se već sada prijavite za dobrovoljni rad pred piknik i na dan piknika. Važan sastanak je danas nakon župske Mise u velikoj dvorani župskog centra.

Piknik će se održati u nedjelju na Očev Dan 20. lipnja u Mater Dolorosa Retreat Center, 700 N. Sunnyside Ave. Sierra Madre.

PROSLAVA HRVATSKE NEZAVISNOSTI

U nedjelju 30. svibnja od 12-9 sati navečer proslavit ćemo kao svake godine dan hrvatske nezavisnosti, to jest dan formiranja prvoga višestranačkog Sabora nakon komunističke strahovlade u Hrvatskoj. Proslava će se održati u Hrvatskom Domu u San Pedru.
